Hip Replacement

Hip Replacement - by C-Section Comics

“Listen to my pro assessment:
your hubs needs a hip replacement,
so relax, get with the flow.
Hip replacement – here we go!”

First we’ll make him go to sleep,
then we poison him. Don’t weep!
I’ll wipe fresh blood off my scrubs,
You say bye to your dear hubs.

Meet Cool Steve, his hip replacement,
Listen to my next bold statement:
Cool Steve will take care of you.
He’ll be your beloved boo.

Steve’s so tanned. Such a great hue.
He’ll do awesome stuff for you.
Whoa Steve, tell me, why’s your hand
on my buttocks? MY it’s tanned!

OK lady, change of plan:
Steve appears to be MY man.
He likes me. You? Not so much.
I can tell it by his touch.

It’s a twist to our short plot.
Though I’m not gay, hell, I’m not.
I’m still straight but Steve’s SO hip,
that I’m gonna let it slip.”

Here’s an oldie I drew about wrong side surgery (and other medical mistakes that should never happen).

And here’s more cartoons featuring doctors.

Insensitive Doctor

Insensitive Doctor

You’ve got four weeks to live girl,
and then you are done.
Four more weeks and you’re dead girl,
so go have some fun.

Four weeks are better than three,
three better than two.
You may think the difference
is minor, well, boohoo.

“An Insensitive Doctor”
you call me, but hey,
Every day of life is great
so I count every day.

Here’s some more dark humor.

You can spend the last four weeks of your life (or any week of your life) reading my comics on Twitter and Instagram.

How We React to Vaccines

Here are some interesting facts about vaccines:

  • American microbiologist Maurice Hilleman developed eight of the fourteen vaccines that are now routinely administered. He is credited with saving more lives than any other scientist of the 20th century (thanks, Reddit).
  • Polio, which can cause lifelong paralysis, can be prevented with a vaccine that costs only $0.50. In the 1980s, polio paralyzed at least 1,000 children every day all over the world, but today, after international efforts to immunize every child everywhere, 5 million people are walking who would otherwise be paralyzed and the world is almost polio-free. (Source: United Nations Foundation)
  • The United Nations actively backs vaccination campaigns in third world countries, such as this one in Afghanistan.
  • A recent Measles outbreak in Texas is linked to an anti-vaccine Pastor. Meanwhile, in Afghanistan and Pakistan, the Taliban tries to stop polio vaccinations, accusing health workers to be “US spies”.
  • In Israel, a recent government funded emergency vaccination campaign ignited debate on the necessity of vaccination, that even reached the High Court.

And me? I’m just grateful to live at a time when we have advanced medicine and science, without which vaccines wouldn’t even exist.
