That One Topic That Everyone Has an Opinion On

So which rights should gays be given by the state? Should they be allowed to get married? Have kids? Serve in the military? This issue seems to be one of those subjects that everyone has an opinion on.

It’s a complex question. But here’s my simple answer: Give unto them whichever right you’d give unto yourself. In the words of that famous Jewish sage:

“That which is hateful to you, do not do to your fellow. That is the whole of God’s teachings (the Torah); the rest is the explanation; go and learn.” (Hillel the Elder, 1st century BCE)

There you have it. Love thy gays just as you love thyself, you vag-licking heteros.

Freedom of Religion

For the record, I’m Jewish and have never celebrated Christmas.

Whichever holiday you celebrate, whether it’s Christmas, Hanukkah, Kwanzaa or Festivus – you should celebrate it proudly, and you should have the right to celebrate it in public.

Happy holidays, and see you in 2015!

Never Lose Hope

Actually, the requirements for running for presidency have been the same since the year George Washington accepted the presidency. It’s the quality of people who see themselves worthy of being President that keeps declining.

Here are the requirements for being a presidential candidate (taken from the Library of Congress website):

As directed by the Constitution, a presidential candidate must be a natural born citizen of the United States, a resident for 14 years, and 35 years of age or older. These requirements do not prohibit a woman from being president, yet this has yet to occur

Never lose hope.
